Mini Trip to Chicago

Last weekend, Aislin and I took a trip to see Auntie Dayna in Chicago.  It also happened to be the weekend she was moving apartments so on Saturday, we got together with our baby BFF Brooke, Miss Jessica and baby Nolan.

The weather was very warm so we hit a neighborhood park on the walk home after lunch.

We went to a children's museum with Brooke and had a lot of fun exploring.

The girls decorated kites, and then watched them fly through the museum.
Then they painted a clear wall.
We finished the day at the "Choo choo Diner" where our food was delivered by train.  What a fun place!

Horsing Around

The Budweiser Clydesdale horses were in downtown Mt Pleasant to celebrate the local distributor's 125th year of business.  We watched them unload the horses and connect them to the wagon.  It was quite an event...but long, so we left after being there for an hour.  It was a gorgeous day as you can see by Aislin's rosy cheeks.

Pretty as a Picture, or a Flower

While Butch was on the road recruiting, Aislin and I took a ride to the Midland Dow Garden.  It's a beautiful place to walk and take in nature.  There is a children's garden and a stream that runs through the entire garden.

Mother's Day

I wanted to post a picture of the beautiful flowers my mom sent to me for Mother's Day.  Tulips are my favorite and these were gorgeous.

Cutie Pa-tooty

Some pics that I just had to post.

A hand-knit hat from two of Grandma's friends.
Playing with scarfs made of organdy ribbon and shower curtain rings...just like the ones at music time.  Can you tell she was loving seeing her reflection in the oven?!?!  Too funny.

Fun Times with Grandma and Aunt Dayna

Grandma and Aunt Dayna visited while Butch and I attended a wedding.  Here are some pics from our visit after we came back home from the wedding.

Eating a tortilla after coloring it first with the restaurant crayons.  Yum.
Letting Aunt Dayna put pretty bows in Aislin's hair.  Ever since these were purchased, I have the joy of cleaning them up all around the house.
Taking a drive to Green Bay, WI to see Grammie and Grandpa while papa goes recruiting.
Hmm, this bridge looks familiar.

We took a trip to the NEW (NorthEast Wisconsin) Zoo.  It was a beautiful sunny day and an awesome zoo.  The highlight was feeding the giraffes a cracker.  They came right up to the fence and took the cracker right from Aislin's little hand.  That is her little arm in the pink sweater giving her cracker away.  She loved it!

We tried to get some fresh air each day.  Aislin liked the jump rope and player soccer with Grandpa.
And she was able to visit her cousin's Megan and Lucas...but I only snapped a picture of Megan.  We'll getcha next time Luke.  We also went to Megan's soccer game where Aislin cheered quite loudly "Go, go, go Megan" and "Go, go, go Chips!"  We have her trained for football season already.

Wedding Bells Are Ringing

Butch and I attended a wedding for Pete and his new bride Andrea on April 30.  (Pete and Butch played college ball together.)  My mom and sister made the trip to Mt Pleasant to watch Aislin for the night.  We had a great (date) night catching up with some of Butch's college friends.

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
I will write and post pictures on you soon.  We are in Green Bay, WI for the week while Papa does his football recruiting.  (This new recruiting schedule is going to be quite a big change for us after experiencing DII recruiting for the last 4 years.  It's all worth is though.)

Anyway, as soon as I get my camera cord back, and Aislin starts her new day care on Tuesday, I will be back to blogging.

Spring Time (?) in Mountain Town

So since we have settled into our new digs, we have been to several football functions and have tried to find fun things to do.  We went to CMU's spring game and thankfully we were able to sit in the athletic director's suite, because it was FREEZING here (Oh, South Carolina weather, how I miss you).  Literally, it was about 35 degrees and very windy.  Butch's old football buddy brought his son, Nicholas, who is just a few months older than Aislin.  They had fun playing for a little while together.  (Do you like her hat hair?)

On a warmer day, finally, we blew bubbles on the front porch.  Not such a smart idea since a ton of bubbles were spilled and I had to get the hose out and clean, which led to watering the flowers.  I can't wait until they all bloom.

Being Silly with Mommy

I was trying to take a nice picture with Aislin.  Here are some of the outtakes.  She was being the silly one.
